Sam Allardyce has suggested the Football Association should take action against Watford’s club mascot for mocking the Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha.
Zaha went down inside the area in the 87th minute of Palace’s 1-1 draw at Watford on Boxing Day, but despite contact he was booked for diving by the referee, Mark Clattenburg. That denied Palace a second penalty in the match as the former England manager Allardyce had to settle for a point from his first game in charge.
The strange and sometimes terrifying world of football mascots – in pictures View gallery Watford’s mascot, Harry the Hornet, got involved after the final whistle, diving at Zaha’s feet when the player went to applaud the Palace fans. “The mascot is out of order, isn’t he? If someone is diving, they don’t get that angry,” Allardyce said. “There’s contact. It wasn’t given.”
According to several national newspapers, he then suggested there might be consequences for the mascot. “That’s up to Watford to sort that out, really,” he said. “The Premier League and FA can look at that and do what they want to do. It could have made the wrong reaction, as we know. But I didn’t see it. I’m more concerned about my team, the overall performance.”

How is football ever going to clean up its game off the pitch when they allow fucking crooks like Allardyce to go unchecked and get back into the game.
Shame on Steve Parish.

Ignorance is bliss. But with that line of thinking you really abdicate your right to ever criticise the club for whatever depths it may sink to, or even for it's right to exist. Because when it was proven (as much as we could ever expect it to be) that the club was taken for a ride by a self-serving narcissist you seem to have no interest. Despite the club directly being harmed in the process. Worse you seek to defend that person? Sorry, I don't get that at all.

Allardyce got us up, with a great day out at Wembley, and pushed us on.
He wasn't brought in because he was clean as snow, our onwers (who tax wise probably ain't as white as snow are either) knew this.
Since when have our fans started screaming after morality?
I go to see west ham, hopefully winning, if my ticket money goes on a brass i care not!

There's lots of things that are part and parcel of the game. The way Redknapp used to deal with dodgy agents I could accept to a degree because it was a means to an end. The tapping up that goes on is just a necessity at this stage. The leeching agents are unavoidable. A club has to move in murky waters at times, I accept that - if we want to win we have to.
But where I draw the line is someone in a key position at the club directly affecting our prospects with their greed. And the appalling hypocrisy involved when they present themselves as a messianic figure. That's different. That's a deception, that's harming us, that's personal.

Re: Allardyce

So you don't care if a manager is buying and picking players based on him getting a bung from them having the 'right' agent or forcing out players who don't play along? Says it all about football that Allardyce and Pulis have both been shown to be crooks in the last few months and are free to carry on regardless. The silence from the League Managers Association is also deadening.
Allardyce has walked into a cushy role at Palace which Pardew somehow was managing to mess up through disorganised defending. Benteke and Townsend are the players WE should have bought & passed Zaza and Tore on to them.
